You’ve booked the band, chosen your prefect first dance song, and are now just waiting to just say ‘I do’
But have you double checked the entertainment details to make sure you get the most of your wedding party?
Here is our top 3 check list for you to ask your chosen venue:
1) Timings
Does your venue have a restriction on when the band can load in? Do they have a curfew when all music must stop? This will inform how you schedule your big day, from when you cut the cake to when you want the band to finish and the disco to start.
2) Facilities
Has your venue had bands before? Is there a place for them to perform? Is there enough power in that space? Can they park near this place? Most venues have these things in place but it is worth checking to avoid any surprises on the day.
3) Limiters
Some venues have restrictions on the volume levels that they can have at an event. It may be a box, called a limiter, on the ceiling (that the musicians have to look at while playing) and if it stays in the red for too long all the electricity is cut to the stage. It may be the sound level is monitored by a member of the staff throughout the night who will take readings from a portable sound level reader. If you know your venue has a limiter please inform the band ahead of them arriving on the day, they can prepare for the lower volume and bring different equipment.
NB also consider that the noise reduction will not just be imposed on your live band but your recorded disco as well.
We offer a complete entertainments package and will double check these key things so don’t worry if they slip your mind
